...and I'll be your guide for the day.
I went out to Eckert's a few weeks ago on an off-day to pick some strawberries. This fine fellow was our driver, and he was nice enough to let me take his picture. He seemed pretty amused by all of it.
And sadly, I don't remember his name. And the name tag doesn't want to be read. I think it was Richard, though.

Flower Child
Because I'm feeling generous, I'll post another image tonight. Don't say I never give you guys anything (assuming I have more than one person reading this. Drop me a line, maybe?).
Anyways, this was my first scheduled shoot in many weeks. In fact, I scheduled it waaaay back in March, I think. And as you may have gathered, Christine here is a maker of fine floral arrangements. For a wedding, in this case, and I think that's all she does, actually, though I didn't think to clarify that matter. Oh well.
This was one of those times where I had an idea in mind of what I wanted, and this came out pretty close. Worth noting is that if you look closely, you can see the corner of a painting in the left corner. For some reason I thought it very important to have that in the shot, but found that a tighter crop made the image a bit better. Thought that counts, right?
I learned that flowers have personality, and that talking to them during the process is not such a bad thing. Makes me feel better about yelling at office equipment, and my camera on occasion.
The second shot here is up because it seemed like the kind of time when a shot of hands would be worth having.

Music and Fun
Those of you keeping score at home might remember Babaloo from my epic Picture a Day project from the past year. At the time, I had wanted to get a proper portrait of him, but I didn't. So consider that gaff fixed. This is one of those times that I got home and had a brilliant idea of what I could have done for the portrait, but oh well. This one, hopefully, manages to capture the Essence of the man, and what he brings to his performances (besides bubbles, that is).
Weirdly, I think he looks a lot like Fred LeBlanc in this picture.

Sting
So I might as well avail myself of all these extra images, right?
I actually just took this one yesterday and didn't feel like sitting on it for a week. This is "Righteous Richard," also known to those of us on the Cyclones BBC as Rick "Sting" Rea. But when he isn't playing a fine third base, he arbitrates other games. Cigar is never far away, and somehow or other, I timed this shot perfectly. I only wish the cigar was visible, but since I wasn't posing anything, I'll go with what I got. It works all the same, I think.
I tinkered a bit more with this one to give it a slight "vintage" look. Didn't want to go overboard, though.

It Is Balloon!
I seem to have a small back-log of images to use right now, which is just as well, since time has scarcely allowed me a chance to go out and schedule any new shoots the past couple weeks. What's interesting is that, as busy as I've been, I'm just taking portraits as opportunity allows, which was really how I was going to do this project in the first place.
This is Mr. Wally, or so says his business card. He was out at HQ a couple weeks ago for a special program, and he was one of the best balloon artists I've ever seen. This shot was taken after he finished up, and I'm fairly sure the extra eyeball bulging was done for the picture. And I'm alright with that, really.

Bubbles
This is actually from the same session (such as it is) that produced the image from last week. I do have other stuff to use, but I really wanted to get this one up as well. I suppose I could have posted both under some sort of combined "street" theme, but I didn't feel like it. So there.
I didn't actually get her name, so she'll just be Bubble Lady to me. I like the way the interior drops out completely (I even planned that!). I don't know for sure if she was bored, or trying to attract customers.
