Dressed to at least the eights

I decided that since the phrase is "dressed to the nines," the originator of said phrase must have been including zero as an option, because it doesn't make much sense to me to leave ten off as an option.

I suppose I could look into the phrase's origins, but I don't feel like it right now.

We had a big ol' fundraiser at work over the weekend. I believe a tux wasn't required, but if you've got one, why not bust it out?

Cute Overload

It's been about a month or two, so I think it's time to check in and see what Natalie is up to, yes?

...

Oh. Still adorable. Okay. I'm glad we took the time to look in on the situation. I should note that she kept taking the hat off, so it was clear she wanted no association with such a lackluster baseball team (quick, get her a Cyclones hat).

The second shot, looking through the back of a park bench is one of my favorite things ever.

Artemis Rocks

The exceptionally hilarious Eoin Colfer was at HQ on Friday night, promoting the newest entry in his Artemis Fowl series. It was presented as a talk show, complete with an opening monologue. That was followed by an interview with the ubiquitous Ridley Pearson, and then another interview with Mr. Artemis Fowl himself, who, due to his demeanor and outfit, made me think of Matrix-related jokes all night. I never did come up with a good one, though.

One READ to Rule Them All

One of our teen volunteers one an award...I forget what it is, exactly, but the Powers That Be at work thought doing a READ poster with her would be a good idea. So I met with Leela, who, besides being awesomely named, brought a very nice set of LotR books. So it was a win-win for all of us involved.

I'm leaning towards using this picture for the poster, but haven't fully made up my mind yet. We'll see.

For the Glory of the Game

Hard to believe, but I took a lot of pictures at the Ohio Cup Labor Day weekend. So rather than choosing 4-5 favorites, I picked one, and will let you go see the rest at your leisure.

Huzzah!
